We are seeking a motivated and hands-on professional to step into the permanent role of Deputy Manager at Little Rays. The Role
As Deputy Manager, you will be responsible for assisting the Manager with the day-to-day operations and successful management of the setting, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and high-quality educational environment. The postholder is directly accountable to and will report to the Manager. You will be a point of contact for parents and help to mentor our staff. The position is 40 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Supervision and Support: Assist the Manager with team supervision, HR functions (interviews, appraisals, and disciplinaries). Support daily operations and oversee the integration of trainees and students.
Operations: Manage admissions, family records, inventory, and health and safety compliance. To assume the role of Manager whenever the Manager is absent (e.g., holiday, sickness, maternity leave). To work across all Little Rays nurseries and fulfil room and office duties as required by the Manager.
Quality of Care: Assist the Manager in delivering high-standard care and nutritious menus while building relationships with the team and local agencies.
Facilities: Ensure building upkeep, hygiene standards, and the safe transport of children.
What We’re Looking For:
Qualifications: Level 5 in Early Years (completed or willing to start a qualification.) Must have 2 years’ experience working with children aged 0-4 years. Must maintain up-to-date Designated Officer and First Aid training.
Leadership Skills: Experience in managing people, resolving conflicts, and staying calm under pressure.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written skills for interacting with parents and regulatory bodies.
Compliance: Must pass a Fit Persons interview with the Registering Social Worker.
