Job Description:

Little Rays has an amazing opportunity for a Nursery Assistants to join our team on a permanent basis.

Job Types: 30 hour contract with possibility of extending to 40 hours

As a Nursery Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting the Nursery team in providing a safe, stimulating, and educational environment for children aged 2 months - 12 years old.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assisting the Nursery team in delivering the daily care and education of the children.
- Create a safe and nurturing environment for children in your care while supporting the
health and safety of the children at all times.
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities and educational programs in line with the
Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.
- Building strong relationships with parents and carers.
- Maintaining accurate records and observations of the children's development.
- Adhering to the nursery's policies and procedures, including child protection and
safeguarding.
- Follow all health and safety guidelines to ensure the well-being of the children.

- Undertaking any other duties as required by the Nursery Manager.

- Prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment

Requirements

  • Previous experience working with children in a childcare setting is desirable.
  • A Level 3 qualification in childcare is preferred, or the willingness to complete the qualification whilst employed. *If you are working a minimum of 21 hours per week within a childcare setting, you could access this course through the Apprenticeship NI programme* You will be required to have Essential skills in English, Maths and ICT or equivalent (proof required)
  • Access NI clearance and Health declaration will be carried out.
  • Must have two references from previous employers.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Ability to multitask
  • A positive and enthusiastic approach to working with children.
  • Patience, compassion, and a genuine love for working with children.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • A willingness to learn and undertake further training as required.Please note that this position will require a background check and reference checks.
